Senior Portrait Sessions: FAQs

Session Information

March 29, 2024

While I’m mainly known for my family and newborn work, I am also an experienced senior portrait photographer! It’s a special time in life to document – young adults on the brink of massive change, preparing for the next chapter of their lives. These sessions are always some of my favorites and I’m honored you’re considering me as your senior portrait photographer!

When Should I Schedule Senior Portraits?

The most popular time to have senior portraits taken is during the summer or fall months of your senior year. It is a beautiful time in Washington State and it’s nice to check portraits off your list as you head into the new school year. Having said that, I often have families reach out in the winter/early spring for photos as senior year is wrapping up. Either option is lovely!

What Can I Expect At My Senior Portrait Session?

You can expect FUN! Many seniors are nervous to be in front of the camera, but please don’t be! It usually only takes a few minutes to warm up and feel comfortable. I have a lot of experience and I will guide and direct you as necessary. We’ll chat throughout the session and it will be great! You can expect the session to last about 45 minutes to an hour. Your completed gallery will be filled with color and black and white images. Posed and candid, your completed collection of photos will beautifully represent YOU.

What Is Included In My Senior Portrait Session?

Senior portrait sessions are all inclusive. This means your session fee includes our time together, the entire gallery of digitals (via download) AND a 10×8 album highlighting all the best images from your session. Individual prints are not included but can be purchased directly through the gallery at reasonable pricing. Additionally, I offer the option of adding on a mini-family session to your senior photos. At the end of your session, we can spend 15 minutes taking some updated family photos and they will be added to your gallery. It is completely optional but very popular with my senior portrait families.

Where Do You Recommend Having My Senior Photos Taken?

I have a go to list of great outdoor locations in the Seattle area. View them HERE. Of course, I’m always happy to check out new locations too so if you have somewhere in mind, please let me know!

How Many Outfits Should I Bring?

I recommend a minimum of two outfits and a maximum of four. It is nice to have options!
