Session Information

March 22, 2024

You’ve booked your photo session and now comes the fun part — figuring out where to take the photos! Fortunately, we live in an incredibly beautiful area and the options are endless.

As a seasoned photographer, I have a go-to list of favorite locations in and around the Seattle area and South Puget Sound. I love finding new locations, and each year, I try to add one or two locations to this list. I also love in-home photo sessions and unique locations that are special to my clients. If you have a location in mind, definitely share it with me!

The following is a list of some of my favorite and most frequent photo shoot locations in the South Puget Sound area.

The Cove | Normandy Park, WA

The Cove is a great place for all types of photo sessions including families, maternity and senior portrait sessions. It is a diverse location with open beach, tall grasses, bridges, driftwood and open fields. The foliage changes beautifully with each changing season. Access is easy and only requires light walking. Evenings are the best time for photo shoots at this location.

Dumas Bay Sanctuary | Federal Way, WA

Located right on the cusp between Federal Way and Northeast Tacoma, Dumas Bay is a little gem. At the bottom of a short (semi-steep) trail, it is a small and private beach area with tall grasses, blooming flowers, and driftwood. With many tall trees surrounding the cove, the light filters in beautifully. This is an excellent summer evening location.

Mill Pond Park | Auburn, WA

This charming, sweet little park in Auburn is perfect for family photos. Bridges, a pond, and tall grasses are constants. In the fall, a beautiful blooming red wall adds a gorgeous pop of color to your photos. This is a great location for both morning and evening sessions.

Seahurst Beach | Burien, WA

A beautiful and easy access beach location! The seasons really show up in this spot. Fall foliage is perfect, winter fog is gorgeous and spring/summer light can’t be beat. Seahurst is best for a morning session time.

The River at Game Farm Park | Auburn, WA

A stunning location! Perfect for an evening shoot in the summer or early fall. This location does require a bit of walking and we’ll venture down a short, steep trail to the river.

Washington Park Arboretum | Seattle, WA

The arboretum is a public park located in the heart of Seattle near the University of Washington. It is surrounded by incredible trees, foliage and stone walking bridge. This is one of my favorite places for family sessions. We’ll stroll through the park, stopping at several different areas for the best shots and light. Morning and evening is equally beautiful at this location.

Clark Lake Park | Kent, WA

Clark Lake Park is a beautiful and diverse location for family photo sessions. There is a lot to explore from open fields, rustic fence lines, lake dock, trails, fern fields and rolling hills. While I have only explored this area during the morning times, I also know it also a lovely evening location. Let me know if you’d like to adventure through this beautiful space with me this summer or fall!

Narrows Park | Gig Harbor, WA

Open beach, hanging trees and stunning views of the Narrows Bridges make this an amazing location for family sessions. Early morning or evening sessions are lovely here.

Your Own Home

In-home photo sessions are really special and unique to your very own family. They are an excellent option and I love doing them! Just a few reasons why in-home sessions are AWESOME:
⚡️Kids are happy at home. Smiles come easy and most kids are eager to show me around their pad.
⚡️Your space is unique, just like your family. It makes the photos very personalized and special.
⚡️They are a bit more laid back. Wanna go barefoot and cozy up on your bed for some shots with the fam? LETS DO IT.
⚡️Life is ever changing. Maybe you live in your forever home, maybe you’re just there for a bit. Either way, it’s a snapshot in time. And even if your home doesn’t change, the people (and pets) in it absolutely will. How fun to capture all those moving pieces together in the present moment.
